The 2026 Philadelphia Flower Show (February 26-March 8) is the third and final production in a trilogy preceding the 200th anniversary of the show in 2027. This year’s theme, “Rooted: Origins of American Gardening,” showcases the past cultures, traditions, and stories that have influenced the gardens of today.
The three shows are intended to reflect on the major garden legacies that have been passed on through the years and those that will mark the future of gardening. The 2024 show, United by Flowers, honored the gardens of today and the community that grows through shared gardening experience. The 2025 show, Gardens of Tomorrow, was a leap into the future, imagining what gardens might look like some years from now. Finally, this year’s show evokes the gardens of the past and the ways they have influenced our gardening history.
Seth Pearsoll, VP and Creative Director of the Flower Show, says the 2026 show “feels especially personal because every plant or garden carries a story behind it…it will be a show filled with memory, meaning, and incredible creativity.”
Some of this year’s features include an entrance garden that blends history with modern design; a special exhibition marking the country’s 250th anniversary; the world’s largest houseplant and indoor plant competition; plus a speaker series, crafts, a butterfly exhibit and more. Tickets are available now.
